Through God, All Things Are Possible
It feels like I was literally doing this 2 days ago.... but it's actually been a full week. I'm a full 20 days into the field! And about a month and a half into my mission!
So, I have had a fun week. We had a lesson with some people on date and they showed us ALL TWELVE OF THEIR ANIMALS...not even kidding... and 4 of them are turtles! They are progressing nicely but it might be a while until they get baptized.
That night we had dinner with a member who laser cuts and makes advent calendars, wooden ties, and wooden earrings. And Elder Klomp and I got free wooden ties (See photos)! They are so sweet! I'm not sure how mission appropriate they are though.
I finally read the Ricciardi Letter! It is amazing! I have learned a lot from it and am trying to be the best missionary I can be.
We had Zone Council! Our Zone got together to talk about people on date and how we can help them the best we can. And right after that, we went to institute. We learned about how obedience brings blessings but exact obedience brings miracles. It's a really good phrase.
Those investigators who are on date have members in the apartment next to them and we have been trying to get them in on a lesson but the people on date were never there. This whole week. Hopefully this next week!
The weather is amazing! It's not humid, around 60-70 and with a small breeze! It made biking so much easier when we lent the car to the other Elders.
Speaking of baptisms and other Elders, they had a baptism! And I gave the only talk! I was really nervous but prayed for a calm heart and mind and gave a very good talk (or so they say😏). We hung out afterwards and then went through the rest of our day.
Monday was interesting. We had District Council and I was assigned a Book of Mormon thought. I did Alma 34:17-28 and related it to missionary work. When we split off, a ZL came with us and followed us around all day. We stopped by one of our friends and talked to him about the Restoration and then I extended the invitation to be baptized! He said no but what I noticed was that before when I thought of doing that I got all scared and worried but when I said it then I had literally no doubt or fear. Only a calm certainty that what I had said and asked him to do was right. That boosted my spirits all day!
We went to the Temple today and are going to get haircuts soon.
I'm grateful for all of you and what you have taught me! Talk to you next week!
