Another prospective Baptism, transfers, and Alma 29

Image
So, no good news this week either. I was not sick again, but we did have to push back a baptism because our friend, Eli's parents want him to understand what he's getting himself into. This was right after we planned with the ward, he is in to move up the baptism to tonight instead. But it was not to be. Eli went to a few baptisms for other missionaries and LOVED it! Hopefully he can be baptized soon! No transfer news yet but definitely tonight. I could very well be staying here but either Klomp or I are getting transferred. After this current transfer though, I will be done with training! So basically in 2 days. Either way, I'm excited for what's next! I also gave a talk in church! I personally think that it was the best talk I've given! I loved it and would definitely love to do another one! So. Alma 29 is something I happened upon while preparing for my talk on Sunday. It starts with Alma wishing that he was an angel that could speak with the voice of a trump and

Sickness=Boredom pt. 2 and a postponed baptism

Okay, okay. Yes this is a new email, not a repeat of the last one. The reason it looks similar is because instead of Elder Sharp being sick, I'm the one who was sick!  My allergies progressed quickly and the drainage soon created what is commonly called "strep-throat" (while editing this, my mom had told me that my throat was just sore and that I didn't have strep). We caught it before anything really bad happened but I still had to stay home for 3 days. And those 3 days were way worse than when Elder Sharp was sick. Now, instead of just being destroyed in all manner of games, I also didn't feel good! Some Elders faked sick all of last transfer so some of the missionaries here were getting suspicious. Let's just say that I would much rather be out teaching our friends than staying inside 3 days straight. The good that came from this is that I really cleaned the apartment and was super determined to get out and help others come closer to Jesus Christ!  On Monda

Sickness = Boredom and maybe a miracle or two

I'm sorry to put some math on you all so late in the school year but I just had to. This email might be shorter than the others, but we shall see.  So, on Saturday the other Elders in our apartment had a baptism at 10 a.m., so in turn they were really busy. In that craze, Elder Sharp mentioned he had a sore throat and could be sick, but because it was a fairly rushed morning we all kind of forgot about it. I had a talk to prepare, we had to fill the font, make sure we were dressed in time, do everything else associated with a baptism, and NOT forget that Sharp was sick. Well, we did all of those except the last one. So we got home and he said he wasn't feeling good again. I wanted to go out still because the next 2 days were really busy preparing for our own baptism and we had to talk to some really progressing people but Elder Sharp said he really didn't feel too good. So, we stayed home..... for 2 whole days.... Now, some of you might be thinking that I enjoyed the "

A move (again), Mother's Day, and Lessons

So, this week has felt really long. This P-day came really slowly. We moved another family this week! It went really fast even though there was a lot of stuff. It felt like one of our moves as a family. Packed boxes and one U-haul packed efficiently. Elder Klomp and I were sad to see the family go but we obviously couldn't stop it.  I'm going to assume that you were all aware that this Sunday was Mother's Day. We had a lot of really good talks about mothers in our wards that made me wonder how my mom helped me grow into who I am today. 1) She always knew when to help but also when to let me learn for myself. 2) She is the best mom I've had. Also the only one so I don't have much to choose from. But, she really is amazing. 3) She can always make me laugh. Even when I don't want to. She can be silly and bring joy back to my life. 4) She never straight up says no....well.... nevermind. She does say no but only when she knows I definitely didn't think it through

Miles, Lists, Painting, Church Attendance, and Exchanges

So, biking is fun. I might've mentioned it before but we were really close to our mile limit for the month so we had to bike these last few days. I've come to enjoy it actually! An elder I know loves bikes because of what he calls "bike blessings". Blessings that come from putting in the extra effort to bike no matter what the weather is like. I can say that "bike blessings" are real! Elder Klomp and I had a lot of success on the bikes! The lists are lists of people who have gone inactive or that we need to visit and there are six of them. One of our wards got on us for not communicating super well after giving them 3 people who are progressing very well and told us to make spreadsheets of EVERYONE on all of the lists. So we typed out all the people and made the spreadsheets. It was tough to be inside typing out a list when I could be teaching someone. We did service for a member this last week! We helped him paint the outside of his house so he could sell i
