SNOW!

Image
Yes! Snow! It snowed on Saturday and Sunday and got really cold really fast! You will see pictures at the bottom but it covered the ground and the car! It was super fun and I was laughing half the time it was falling! Being in snow is fun! However. Being COLD is not fun. I don't really have a super good jacket for the cold and have been on the lookout for a week now. A member gave me a good bulky one that could go over a suit but it's too big to wear normally. If anyone has any good suggestions on coats, I will gladly look into them! This week has been really fun! One experience however, stands out from the rest. We were at Costco yesterday, and after we got our food we sat next to an older guy who was sitting alone. We got to talking and turns out that his wife died 3 years ago in 6 days. He was really sad and was at Costco to go on one of their mini dates after activities and eat shakes. He also said that he has prayed many times to know if the Book of Mormon was true but has

Tire trouble and life

So, we got our first flat tire on Wednesday. This was a problem because we had a lot of things scheduled for that night. We put the spare on and I didn't like it at all. It felt like it could pop at any moment. We had called the vehicle coordinator and he said to go to commercial tire before they close (this was at 5). So we went and they said that they couldn't do it tonight but that tomorrow morning would work better.  We took his advice and went the next morning at 10. We walked to winco and back in 45 minutes to get some things and be back before the hour it would to patch the tire was over. We got back and our car still wasn't even in the shop yet. So we sat there until 12:45 then walked to Costco and ate lunch there. We had a 40 minute conversation with some members and when we got back, OUR CAR STILL WASN'T IN THE SHOP! It was like 1:45 at this point and we were BORED. We just sat there for another 30 minutes until they got our car in for 15 minutes and fixed it.

Okay everyone! The time has come for me to train! I am training Elder Shelton from Tennessee! He wants to work and is learning so much from everyone in the zone and district! I am excited to train and he is excited to learn! We also moved again. This time into an apartment right next to our area and with the District Leader, Elder Hansen, and his new guy, Elder Foote. It is so much fun being in a 4 Elder apartment again! At the end of the day, I taught them all how to play Lucky Unders and it has taken off! Every night now, we all flip over a whiteboard for a table and play a few games of it! It is so fun to start bonding with everyone in the house!  On Monday, Elder Hendrickson came into my area and we had a blast! We set high goals and tried our hardest to reach them. We didn't but we did put someone on date for the 29th of October! He is super excited and his mom is right there with him!  The only way we found him is because of a member family. If we had never asked for anyone t

This has been an exciting week! We have had quite a bit of success! Most of this happened Monday on exchanges. I was with Elder Moses in my area! He is a great guy and loves to have fun, so we get along just fine! But, we started off our day kind of slowly. We tried to talk to a few people but no one was answering. We ate lunch and then knocked part of an apartment complex. Now, this is where the cool stuff happens. It was about 3:30 and we had a fair few things planned between 3 and 4:30. So we went about doing those things and then went to visit someone in a trailer park and he was home! Without teaching a full lesson, we taught him about Joseph Smith and the first vision, the Book of Mormon and how we can pray to know its truthfulness! He LOVED it! He said that he has the same questions that Joseph Smith did and that we are the first church that has asked him to PRAY about something.  Now, that's not it. He told us that his brother lives across the street and that we should go s
