Transfer News!
Okay everyone! The time has come for me to train! I am training Elder Shelton from Tennessee! He wants to work and is learning so much from everyone in the zone and district! I am excited to train and he is excited to learn!
We also moved again. This time into an apartment right next to our area and with the District Leader, Elder Hansen, and his new guy, Elder Foote. It is so much fun being in a 4 Elder apartment again! At the end of the day, I taught them all how to play Lucky Unders and it has taken off! Every night now, we all flip over a whiteboard for a table and play a few games of it! It is so fun to start bonding with everyone in the house!
On Monday, Elder Hendrickson came into my area and we had a blast! We set high goals and tried our hardest to reach them. We didn't but we did put someone on date for the 29th of October! He is super excited and his mom is right there with him!
The only way we found him is because of a member family. If we had never asked for anyone to visit, we never would've known about him or heard of him! So, if the missionaries come knocking, 1) let them in, 2) hear them out, and 3) tell them about someone you know who could use some help spiritually or even physically with service. We are always down to help!
A thought I shared in church this last Sunday was based around this quote:
Wisan wisely arranged for a copy of the Book of Mormon to be delivered
This is from the talk Love, Share, and Invite by Gary E. Stevenson in the April 2022 General Conference.
This quote is talking about a man (Wisan) who shared a Book of Mormon story online. His brother then asked for the Book of Mormon. Wisan then ARRANGED for a copy to be delivered. He didn't tell his brother how to look it up or how to order one, he arranged for it to happen. I have gotten a lot of "If you tell us to do it, it won't get done, and if we tell you to do it, it won't get done either" responses to asking people to help us in the work. This just amazes me that that's how they see it. This is the greatest work on the earth and people say that things just won't get done? We ended up having to spend our time not working and instead what we asked them to do for 3 days. Not whole days but a few hours a day is way too much time for us not to be doing things with. The members i shared that with were a bit surprised but definitely understood and are way more willing to help us now than they were before!
Overall, I have learned a lot and also learned that I still have so much left to learn. I am in no way perfect or 100% diligent but I am trying to be better!
