Service, studies, Bulldogs, and General Conference
Okay, so I think I'm starting to time travel. I literally just had p-day yesterday and now I'm back... and tired.
We did a lot of service these last few days. We had to move a China cabinet (yes it was heavy) a table, and a massive cabinetry thing a member had us move at 8:30 at night. I learned a lot from each one. Not how to lift heavier things better, but on why we need to serve. Jesus served all those around him. He did so willingly and loved those he served. And one thing I've found after service is that I grow to love those I serve more. The more I have served, the more I come to love missionary work. So, serve more everybody. You WILL find more joy and peace from doing so.
My companion and I started to study at the church after 10 every day. I really broke down a talk by Elder Neal A. Maxwell called Reasons to Stay Pure in 2003. I was looking for things on virtue and found it on Gospel Library. It turned into a 'how to fight the natural man' study session. I really liked it and recommend everyone look it up and study it.
Okay, this is for my dad and anyone who loves bulldogs. One of the doors we knocked on had a really sweet bulldog named Boss. He is definitely one of the nicest dogs I've ever seen and one of the strongest. I can herby authorize my family to get a bulldog. You're welcome.
And General Conference! I absolutely loved it! Half of the talks seemed to be on missionary work which I really liked. And I actually took notes! I am definitely going to listen to all of them again! We had breakfast with members who made crepes and watched all the sessions with them. They were really nice and are amazing.
Photos: the temple (as always), Bulldog pics, conference time!, the spam egg and rice the other Elders made, service, and my breakdown of Elder Maxwell's talk.
