4th of July and "Spanish work"

Okay, so it was obviously the 4th of July yesterday and I just know that my family went crazy with fireworks at the ranch.

Over here though for Independence Day we had an exchange again! We went down to Hollister to participate in their small-town breakfast to celebrate. It was definitely a small-town thing. There was only like 50 people and the pancakes were half cooked but it was good! We then were going to go to a parade in Buhl and street contact but apparently it happened at the same time as the thing in Hollister. So, we missed that but that was fine.

After lunch, Elder Fuhriman and I went down past Jackpot Nevada to talk to some people and took some photos in front of some ruins in Rogerson! It was sweet!

Now, Spanish work.... I am definitely not a Spanish speaking missionary, but we talked to an inactive member on Saturday who said he wasn't interested in a message. He was, however, wearing a Leister City football club shirt and soccer cleats. I asked if he played soccer, and he said yes! He invited us back on Monday at 7 to play! I don't have the shoes for it so I was confident we would get destroyed.

So, we went over yesterday and kicked a soccer ball around with one of the guys there. He asked some questions in seriously broken English and Elder Fuhriman and I somehow answered them all with the Spanish we knew. He was actually interested in a message and checking out the Spanish branch on his day off! It was a miracle seeing as we got nowhere close to our goal. He invited us and the other Spanish elders back next week to play with them again! God works in mysterious ways sometimes...

We had a fun week and have a mission wide P-day today in Tyhee. Wherever that is. It's just over 2 hours away from Filer. There will be an East VS West basketball game and football game. It's going to be great! West side best side!

Have a great week everyone!
