A miracle, Another miracle, A bug, And the Big Question

So! This has been a hectic week! It's been a lot of ups but being up for so long wears the body and mind out! I am TIRED and still look forward to this next week!

The first miracle is that we had another baptism! He has been learning for a while and called up the Bishop last Tuesday and said he wanted to get baptized that weekend! The Bishop called us really quickly in the middle of a Nerf war and gave us the miraculous news! We rushed to get the interview done and then got him baptized at 9 on Saturday. No picture because of how fast it was. I also got to baptize him! It was amazing!

The second miracle happened on exchanges yesterday. We had just knocked the first person of the day and were walking back to the car when I said we should knock the street we were on. And the very first house let us share a message and accepted a Book of Mormon and the trio who are in the area are going back Wednesday to teach him more!

The bug was super cool! Elder Beelek, the exchange companion found a praying mantis and picked it up and put it on the dashboard of the car! We then found a grasshopper and put that on the dashboard as well! We then proceeded to spend the next 20 minutes watching the praying mantis hunt the grasshopper! It was so cool! Hopefully I can send the video!

But, the one thing that stuck with me was a question that Elder Beelek asked me.
He asked "What have you done or what have you found that has made Filer a successful area? No one has baptized there for at least 3 transfers and then you baptize 2 times within 2. How did you do it?"
I told him at first just to be a good guy and the members would see it and same with our friends.
Now that I've thought about it a bit more I have a better answer. That first answer is part of it but there is definitely something else.
Be OBEDIENT. Be HONEST. Be DILIGENT. And TRUST IN THE LORD. All these things have been key to the success of the area. While no one is perfectly obedient, we try our hardest. No one is perfectly honest or diligent or trusting. But we try. We give it our all and know that when we look back we will see the rewards that came from it. So, I promise you all that as you strive to be those things, you will see success in your life. You will find that joy that comes from trials or hardships or even work. I have seen it here and I know you will see it where you guys are too.

I have loved this week and can't wait for the next!
