Transfers, the Reservation, and mountains

Okay, everyone. This has been the longest week of my Mission so far. And the most stressful.

We had transfer news come out on Wednesday at 11. It said I was going to whitewash an area with an Elder I already know over in Pocatello. That's easy enough right? No, it wasn't.
We go to the transfer site and the first thing I hear is that things might've been shifted around and that I might not be going with that Elder. We Head over to Burley and swap stuff around and head over to Pocatello soon after that. When we get there however, the Mission President pulled me aside and said that my companion was going to get here the next day. He also told me who it was. I am going with one of the definitely not good missionaries out here. Elder Casablanca. He doesn't work, doesn't teach, and much less studies. And I'm whitewashing with him.
The reason he wasn't there was because the transfer news said he was going over to Twin Falls and so that's where he went.

I got to stay with the Zone Leader, Elder Sharp, and his new guy, Elder Cunningham on the local Reservation for the day until I could go to my area. We had a blast! Elder Sharp and I joked about the past and I got to know Elder Cunningham pretty well! We talked to a group of kids and they stole my name tag and a Book of Mormon and became mini-me! It was funny!

The next day, Elder Sharp had a meeting all day that Elder Cunningham couldn't go to, so he came with my companion and I.

Now, the thing is, because of all the shifting around, we don't have a house, a SIM card, or a car for our area. Basically homeless. So, we borrowed everything from Elder Sharp. We called the mission office multiple times and finally got a SIM card! Next was the house. We called a few more times and finally ended up in a house 15 minutes away from our area, not the one literally inside our area. We gave the truck back and waited to be picked up in the morning.

We finally got a car the next day around 10:30 and could finally go to work. It was a long week guys, a long week.

The first thing we did after getting the car was go fill up with gas. While we were filling up the car we got a call. It was from the Murdock family in the Pocatello Creek ward. They had a friend who wanted o meet with us! he was baptized at 8 but no records were made for him. They gave us his number and we are going to reach out and set up a lesson!

But, our area is actually kind of pretty. In the mountains at least. We cover one neighborhood, 2 apt complexes and 2 beautiful drives in the mountains.

We have seen success already but could definitely see more. I'm going to miss Filer a ton. Two of our friends were put on date for Sept 30th in Filer and I'm sad I won't be there for it. But I'm here for a reason and I'm excited to do the work and find that reason.

Somehow the last people here left a whole bag of Swedish Fish! And they are still good!
A sunset Thursday night.
And a great quote in the mission office.
