A fire and last minute miracles

Okay, so, this has been a weird week.

We started it off with some good exchanges and got some sweet finds but Wednesday night there was a fire on the reservation just north of us! The smoke was coming over the mountains and made the moon red! We talked to inactive members that said it could come over the mountains and burn up Pocatello Creek. that was scary to know... It didn't end up doing that which was really good. It was an interesting day. It smelled like smoke for 3 days straight. Some missionaries took cool photos of it.

This last exchange day we had some miracles! I went to the Chubbuck 2 area and we talked to this one lady who has had some deaths in her family pretty recently. Most notably her husband. He was murdered in the Chubbuck extended stay and she was looking for help. She had us over and we taught her the plan of salvation and the Gospel and then put her on date! She was taking notes and definitely felt the spirit! About 3 hours later she called us and asked us to go over again but right as we did, we saw cops all over the place. I think she had gone kinda crazy or paranoid and had done something stupid but that was definitely scary.

Then when we ended the exchange early so Elder Johnson could help his greenie, Elder Hendrickson, I went to my area for the last 30 minutes and after driving the 15 minutes there, we talked to ONE person, which is rare in our area and then even rarer to get a find from that too! We got one find in one minute and then had to rush back to the Mission Office to end the exchange. 

We also had a day of miracles on Thursday. We had forgotten to plan that day and had been having a bad day so we decided to go and replan our day at the church. We started with a prayer and then planned. The WHOLE REST OF OUR DAY was filled with miracles! We saw so many ways that God worked through us. People answered and we actually had a sit down lesson! Our first of the transfer!

It has been a crazy week and we have had some fun exchanges!

Hey everyone, sorry for no email last week, I was waiting to send one after I got transfer news! I'm staying in Afton for another transfer and getting a new companion! His name is Elder Garcia and he's from Arkansas! He's super funny and we get along really well! This area is just a roller-coaster! We used to have 4-5 potentials for this month and now we have like 2. It has been sad to see the situations that make the people we are teaching wait to get baptized. We are doing our best and being diligent while on the Lord's errand and we hope to see miracles! This area is amazing and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for it! Unexpected surprises...

So, this last week has been amazing. Elder Jones and I have gone around visiting a ton of members so that we can get to know their neighbors. We have already seen success from this and are going to continue to do it. A miracle we saw this last Tuesday was a call from the Seminary teacher in the stake. He called and told us about this girl who wants to be baptized and wanted to meet that next day! So we met with her and 2 of her friends on Wednesday and she is ELECT! Many things in her life have lead her to this moment and now her friends are helping her make that choice to follow the Savior.  After that lesson at noon, we set the next one for 7:30 the next day just before transfers! We taught her the plan that God has for us and invited her to be baptized. She agreed and set a goal for June 3rd! It is amazing what the lord has in store for each and every person on the earth. The Elect

Hey everyone! Sorry for missing an email this last week, I realized I needed to write one at 10pm and just decided to wait till today. We had transfers this last week and I get to stay in the Kimberly 1 area and I swapped out Elder Johnson for Elder Villezcas (VE-yez-kas)! He loves anything to do with Sonic the Hedgehog and loves to talk. This is going to be a fun transfer! Last week went slow like the end of a transfer usually does but now we have to get that momentum again. There weren't a ton of miracles either but they are definitely coming back.  Something that I saw happen last week was when Elder Johnson and I were teaching this really old guy named Tom Smith. He's a PMF and had been meeting with missionaries for a LONG time and we had finally dug through his concerns to whether or not he believes Joseph Smith is a prophet or not. We had challenged him the week before to make up his mind on that subject but he had forgotten that part of the challenge when we came back. A...
