Being sick again and an interesting Thanksgiving

Image
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My Thanksgiving was interesting. We had dinner get dropped off after a day of fun and sports! We then proceeded to drop half of it in the street on our way to get together with some other Elders. Then we had a sad meal with what was left. We got home and then got to bed. I got to call home and talk to my brother as well!  Then on Sunday I got sick. Just a cold but it took us out for 3 days. And I didn't like it one bit. Some members in our area were nice and dropped off some medicine and that helped a TON.  This has been a long week and I'm glad it's over.  Grant Williams Photos A move we helped with and the ONE time it started to snow again! A backwards icicle! The Christmas decorations in the house. The float in the Christmas parade we were in! The Pocatello temple! And the meme!

A baptism! And transfers turned into a long week...

First thing first! Henry Ryan finally changed his name and got baptized Wednesday night just before Shelton left! He was a member referral the morning I first got into this area and he has loved everything! His only hold up was that he wanted to change his name to Henry Ryan so he could be baptized with a new name as well as a new start to life (and also for brand purposes). Elder Shelton and I have had a blast going and sharing the lessons with him and getting it all planned out!  We had transfers this last week and I get to stay in my area for a 3rd transfer! The longest I've been in an area!  Sadly though, I had to say goodbye to Elder Shelton so he could finish his training over in Gooding. But I got Elder Adamson! He has been out 6 months longer than me and is extremely bold! I've learned to just talk to literally everyone and not feel awkward. Half the time, it's just our agency whether or not we extend invitations! And I've been trying to use mine the best I can.

Another one bites the dust

One more transfer gone. It has been a literal roller coaster of a transfer. Ups, downs, rolls, and hospital visits. I have had fun this transfer and hope this next one is just as fun and productive.  We do have a baptism tomorrow night though! Henry Ryan is getting baptized and making promises with his Heavenly Father! Elder Shelton and I have been working on him for a while and he is finally ready! I'm super grateful for Elder Selton and all that he has taught me. I'm a better missionary because of him. Something that has stuck out to me this week is that it doesn't matter what others think. Sometimes we get so caught up in what others care about and what others think that we forget our purpose here. My purpose right now is to do all I can to help people come closer to christ. Not to worry about opinions or pressures. That is something I'm working on and trying to get better all the time.  Sorry for the short email but not much happened this week. We have been walking

Probably the worst thing possible. And some fun!

Okay, I'm going to get right to the point here... We got in a wreck. Not your average wreck either.  We had JUST finished dinner and were starting down the mountain to end our exchange and it had snowed a lot that day (Monday). I decided to drive home to get some more experience driving in the snow because I was going to be doing a lot of it. We were going around a bend with a cliff on one side and the mountain on the other and we started to slip. The car quickly lost control and we barrel-rolled down the mountain. I was following all the rules for driving in the snow too. We rolled 200+ feet and barrel-rolled about 6 times. We landed on all 4 tires and with no injuries. Elder Laws, our Zone Leader, had a small cut above his eye but nothing else besides that. We opened the doors to the car and got out and immediately said a prayer of thanks for the miracle that had just happened. We were alive and unharmed even though we had basically rolled off a cliff.  We called the cops and the

No more snow? A Halloween donation and a Castle! Plus something else...

Sadly the snow was only meant to be here for a few days. I had some fun while it was still here but now it's gone. It is however supposed to snow this weekend for a LONG TIME! And that means I can build a snowman! Hopefully. That is my goal at this point.  Now, my companion and I and the whole mission had to be inside at 5. That meant we couldn't go to our triple ward trunk or treat at 5:30. That was a bummer until we came up with an idea for a candy donation box for the Elders (us)! We set it up outside the church and sent a picture to one of our wards and asked them to take it inside when the trunk or treat is over. So, at 7:30, we got a text from one of our bishops letting us know that it was inside! We got there in the morning and looked at the candy the charitable members gave us. See the pictures to see how well it worked! Now, on of the best parts of this week was that we got a tour of a castle! It was crazy! It's up on a mountain and will be finished in 2-3 years! A
