With great KNOWLEDGE comes great responsibility!
This email is going to focus on yesterday the most because that's where this week got interesting.
Wednesday through Saturday was normal missionary work which like always (especially while walking) leaves you so tired at the end of the day. One of the best people ever came out with us for some visits this last week. After the visits, we spent 45 minutes at his house with his wife talking missionary work and how they can do all they can to further the work in their ward. The fire is inside them and they are now the members we are going to work with a lot!
On Monday though we had exchanges! Elder Child came into my area for the day. My second time with him! We had some effective studies that morning as well! We talked and discussed the differences between the Light of Christ, the Power of the Holy Ghost, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost. It was really fun and we learned a lot!
It had snowed last night and Elder Child is from Orange County California and loves to disobey traffic rules so let's just say that I was more scared during this than when we rolled off the mountain. We borrowed his car for the day.
Child woke up feeling a little nauseous but said he was fine to go out and do stuff. So we did. After a Costco hot dog though, he started to feel worse. We ran to some members and then home so dinner could get dropped off and then Child threw up a lot.... so we canceled our appointments and sat at home until we exchanged back.
But the title of the email is based on a lesson we had with someone I've taught for a long time. Her name is Rosemary. She is very strong in her Catholic religion but is open to us stopping by. We have brought up baptism multiple times but she is comfortable where she is. She has mentioned just wanting the knowledge that we bring. When she said that, I changed the typical Spiderman phrase "with great power comes great responsibility" into "with great KNOWLEDGE comes great responsibility". We testified that as she learns, that knowledge she gains will bring the responsibility of making the right choice. She has chosen to hold off again even though we have done a TON with her.
This can also be applied to our own lives. If we know what we are supposed to do, we have the responsibility take the right choice. Now I would invite you guys to think about things that you know to be true and how you act based on that knowledge. Is it in accordance to what you know or is it a little off. I need to do better with this myself but that's what I wanted to talk about in this email.
