Big or small

Hello everyone!

We have had a great week here in Kimberly! We started it off by having a lesson with one of our more promising people at the seminary building! She was a lot more comfortable there and the seminary teacher was able to help with the lesson!
We had a really busy day on Thursday and ended up rushing everywhere because we had so many things to do in a short amount of time! We got to talk to a lot of members this week and have learned more about some families in the wards we cover and how we can help them!

We had that busy pace almost every day this week. Being busy makes the work a lot more fun and makes it fly by sometimes!

We had a lesson with a man named Mike Saturday night. Mike has had a really rough life and didn't want anything to do with the church a few years ago. His neighbors are members and they have helped him a few times and served him a bit and recently asked them for advice on some things. The members referred him to the bishop and he started meeting with him. Pretty soon we got involved and have taught him a ton of things. At this lesson, we invited his neighbor over and started teaching some of the commandments. Mike had questions on a few of them which we answered but that didn't seem to satisfy his questions. Then the member joined in and said something I had never thought of saying. He said that no one at the table had the answers that would satisfy Mike's questions. He then said that the commandments are all based on Faith. God won't give a commandment that will harm us or put us in a worse place than where we started off. He then told Mike that if he needed those answers that he should ask God to have the strength to keep them. Mike then said that God has brought him through so many problems and trials that He can easily get him through the things we talked to him about.

I was thinking just how often we don't see things how the member explained it. We often think of things as I have to because everyone else is or I have to otherwise this person won't like me. I believe we need to see standards and commandments as a show of God's love towards us. He will only give us commandments that make us better and more like Him.

Mike got to come to church for the first time on Sunday and the speakers seemed to have been picked just for him! They talked about overcoming difficulties and how there is always a purpose behind what God commands us to do.

Now. That was a big miracle. That was pretty obvious and definitely made my day! It's a lot harder to truly recognize the small miracles.
Elder Ronald A. Rasband gave a talk on miracles one time and said this:
"the magnitude does not distinguish a miracle, only that it came from God."
I love that. Miracles are big or small. Doesn't matter the size or magnitude, they are there.

I am having an amazing time here in Kimberly and can't wait to see what more miracles I can find!
