Let the Spirit teach

Hello everybody! I hope you are all having a good Tuesday so far because I am even though it's 4° outside!

We have been busy all day everyday this week! We have had lessons with so many amazing people and are trying to progress them towards baptism!

Goals. That is one of the biggest things this week. On Friday, we had 5 finds out of our goal of 14. We had District Council that day because our District Leader was sick till then. In that meeting, he invited us to pray about and review our goals...so we did. And raised our goal by 1! Now we were down by 10 and only had 2ish days to get all of them. So we went out and worked like always and got 8 finds that day! It was crazy! Then on Saturday, we got 3! And on Sunday, we got 2! All for a total of 18/15 finds! Prayerfully setting goals works!

One thing I also got to do this week is go on an exchange to the Swahili area for a few hours and I loved it! I understood nothing but I came to love the people so quickly! We went to an English class and I got to see just how complicated English is! We speak it so easily but it is really hard!

Something that I've realized was that I haven't been writing down the funny and weird stories from my Mission and should if I want to remember them all. That's a goal for me now, to write down all the experiences I can remember so I don't lose them!

Another thing I liked was just yesterday too! We had another new missionary join us from 3:00 to 8:45. We were going to our last lesson of the night with this guy named Chad. Chad didn't seem promising to me so I was a little surprised when he didn't bash us or turn out to be crazy! Instead he just wanted to talk about his past experiences with churches everywhere. Soon we talked about family and where he thinks his grandma is. We three missionaries instantly knew what to teach. We taught him about the premortal life and our purpose on this earth. We then explained the Spirit World and the resurrection that led into Judgment. We talked about the 3 degrees of glory and who goes to which one. He understood it all but just had one question. If we are to make it to that top degree of glory, how can we do that without experiencing everything on the earth? An explanation came to mind and Elder Johnson (my companion) and another Elder Johnson (from Twin Falls) explained what they thought he was trying to say then I explained what I thought. Turns out, that was the answer he was looking for. He saw how this plan is all a plan of love and that God is watching out for him. It was amazing to me to see how the spirit could speak through me to answer his question. I am going to try to look for these experiences a lot more now.

He then gave us a tour of his house which had been vacant for a LONG time and was known as the Haunted House of Hansen. It is a big project that will take him a while but he loves it.

It has been a great week and I can't wait to see what happens next!
