The Elect and the Bible

 So I am really excited for this next week!

This last week has been slow but also has been a lot of fun. We had a Zone Council on Wednesday and then District Council right after that. Then on Thursday we had a Zone Conference where multiple zones get together to receive training from mission leadership. We had some members from one of our wards go to the member portion and they loved it! 

On Saturday, we saw a miracle at the very end of the day. We knocked on this one family's door and they were all home! They let us in and we shared a lesson with them all! They didn't go to church on Sunday but we have another teaching with them in a bit. 

Then a sad thing happened on Sunday. One of our most progressing people dropped us over text. She said she would keep reading the Book of Mormon and praying but that we should stop going over. Elder Villezcas and I were pretty bummed by this but then literally 15 minutes later when we were talking to one of our bishops, he told us about a family that we used to be working with but stopped because they never let us in. He said that they got custody of the non-member kid and that his other grandparents live in another one of our wards! And they are a Part Member Family! This was huge! We ended that night on such a high note!

Today, we went to the temple and it was amazing. I found a scripture too in Hosea that talks about the restoration. It is Hosea 3:4-5. It says;
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
   5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.
This was interesting to me because I had only heard of a few scriptures that talk about the restoration in the Bible but here was another one! This confirmed my testimony in the Bible and that our work is true!

Afton for 2!

Hey everyone, sorry for no email last week, I was waiting to send one after I got transfer news! I'm staying in Afton for another transfer and getting a new companion! His name is Elder Garcia and he's from Arkansas! He's super funny and we get along really well! This area is just a roller-coaster! We used to have 4-5 potentials for this month and now we have like 2. It has been sad to see the situations that make the people we are teaching wait to get baptized. We are doing our best and being diligent while on the Lord's errand and we hope to see miracles! This area is amazing and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for it! Unexpected surprises...

So, this last week has been amazing. Elder Jones and I have gone around visiting a ton of members so that we can get to know their neighbors. We have already seen success from this and are going to continue to do it. A miracle we saw this last Tuesday was a call from the Seminary teacher in the stake. He called and told us about this girl who wants to be baptized and wanted to meet that next day! So we met with her and 2 of her friends on Wednesday and she is ELECT! Many things in her life have lead her to this moment and now her friends are helping her make that choice to follow the Savior.  After that lesson at noon, we set the next one for 7:30 the next day just before transfers! We taught her the plan that God has for us and invited her to be baptized. She agreed and set a goal for June 3rd! It is amazing what the lord has in store for each and every person on the earth. Hey everyone! Sorry for missing an email this last week, I realized I needed to write one at 10pm and just decided to wait till today. We had transfers this last week and I get to stay in the Kimberly 1 area and I swapped out Elder Johnson for Elder Villezcas (VE-yez-kas)! He loves anything to do with Sonic the Hedgehog and loves to talk. This is going to be a fun transfer! Last week went slow like the end of a transfer usually does but now we have to get that momentum again. There weren't a ton of miracles either but they are definitely coming back.  Something that I saw happen last week was when Elder Johnson and I were teaching this really old guy named Tom Smith. He's a PMF and had been meeting with missionaries for a LONG time and we had finally dug through his concerns to whether or not he believes Joseph Smith is a prophet or not. We had challenged him the week before to make up his mind on that subject but he had forgotten that part of the challenge when we came back. A...
