Promptings, a Move, a Blizzard, and an Exchange
This week had a lot of interesting moments. Now I can learn and grow from them.
On Friday we had breakfast with investigators and during our conversation, in a busy restaurant, I was prompted to bring up a question that, when I did, turned the conversation to a more gospel oriented one. We taught him a bit and then left but I know he was touched by what I said. I hope that we can keep meeting around his busy schedule.
Wednesday, we had to go help move someone! My first one! We would only have stayed for an hour, but it was us and one other guy plus the elderly people we were moving there so we stayed.... for 3 hours. It was fun and I would definitely do it again! Dad, I promise we packed the truck right.
Okay, this might not have actually been a blizzard, but it was snow and a TON of wind. At one point it was little pellets of ice instead of snow! And yes, it hurt. We tracted during it and we saw a lot of blessings because of that dedication and determination. The exchange though was yesterday when the blizzard came through. I was with Elder Smith, and Elder Niupalau. We were a little crazy together but when we taught and focused, we could do anything. On the exchange we found 26 new people and taught 30 lessons! It was insane! The blizzard was during the worst of it too!
One thing that happened yesterday was that we knocked on a door and an old lady opened it. She said she wants nothing to do with us because in the '60s the members made fun of her and basically forced her out. She called her granddaughter in and turns out she was interested. We taught the lesson and during it the grandma suddenly was on our side in teaching! And we put her granddaughter on date! The spirit really softened her heart so that we could come in and teach and get her granddaughter on the right path.
Overall, this was an amazing week and I hope it continues!
